This is the new Benicia-Martinez Bridge. The Concord-Martinez area, which is about three or four miles into the picture, is where Flyover Country starts. More importantly, it's where Blue America ends. Won't start up again until you get to the East Coast.
They haven't ordered me my Personal Flotation Device (lifejacket) yet, so I had to use this spare one in the office. It's one size smaller than Jimmy-sized.
Gimme a few years and hopefully I'll get a cool pic from atop the new Self-Anchored Suspension tower to be built soon in San Francisco Bay.
